Installing Widgets

Gold Tracker offers widgets so you can see gold prices right from your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Today View.

1. Verify Your Purchase

Widgets are a paid feature in Gold Tracker. Before setting up a widget, make sure you have purchased or restored the widget add-on:

  1. Open Gold Tracker on your iPhone
  2. Tap the Menu in the top left
  3. Tap the Widgets tab
  4. Check that widgets are listed as purchased
  5. If not, tap to purchase or tap Restore Purchases if you've bought them previously

2. Add the Widget to Your iPhone

Once your purchase is confirmed, follow Apple's steps to add a widget:

Home Screen

  1. Touch and hold an empty area on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle
  2. Tap the Edit button at the top of the screen, then tap Add Widget
  3. Search for or scroll to Gold Tracker
  4. Choose your preferred widget size and tap Add Widget
  5. Tap Done

Lock Screen

  1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the Customize button appears, then tap it
  2. Tap the Lock Screen preview
  3. Tap the widget area below the clock
  4. Search for or scroll to Gold Tracker and select a widget
  5. Tap Done

Today View

  1. Swipe right from the Home Screen or Lock Screen to open the Today View
  2. Touch and hold an empty area until the apps jiggle
  3. Tap the Edit button, then tap Add Widget
  4. Search for Gold Tracker, choose a widget, and tap Add Widget
  5. Tap Done

3. Face ID App Lock Must Be Disabled

If you have locked Gold Tracker with Face ID using iOS's Lock App feature, your widgets will not work. This is an iOS limitation. When an app is locked with Face ID, iOS blocks its widgets from displaying data.

To fix this:

  1. Find Gold Tracker on your Home Screen
  2. Touch and hold the app icon
  3. If you see an option that says Require Face ID with a checkmark, tap it
  4. Select Don't Require Face ID
  5. Authenticate with Face ID to confirm the change

This only removes the Face ID lock from Gold Tracker. It does not affect Face ID for other apps or for unlocking your iPhone.
